UAE patients obesity surgery experience in India.

I am from Dubai. I got my obesity surgery in India. Life has always treated me like a royal guest and shown great favours to me. I was born in a wealthy family, my father used to run a travel agency arranging holiday package tours in Dubai for international and abroad tourists and being the single child of my family I got the business that had nothing to do, my employees used to do everything, advertising, dealing with the customers and maintaining sales record I just came to my travel agency office for a time pass and over a time span of  22 years I got seized by obesity. I had a great trouble in getting up and sitting on my chair, It was the support, cooperation and guidance of the obesity surgeon of India through which I got a remarkable weight loss advantage  from obesity surgery though money was not any big problem for me but still I would like to mention that the cost price of obesity surgery charged by my obesity surgeon in India was less and affordable with the best health care and lodging facilities that was given to me during my stay in India.

My decision to get an obesity surgery in India was also a dramatic and unexpected one. Last year in  2007 I met Evan Peters a British resident  who had come with his family on a holiday tour to south east Asia being desirous of seeing Dubai he stayed for three days in Dubai for two days. That cheerful guy of  forty two years got friendly with me right at our first meeting when I met him at the counter of our hotel cum travel agency, I was quite fat at that time and seeing me he said “Mr. Marzbaan aren’t you feeling uncomfortable with obesity?” I told him that I had tried some exercises for some time but I got tired of it within 20 days. Evan told me to seek any weight loss or obesity surgeon, he told me that he to was suffering from obesity some time before but the surgery cost of Obesity and weight loss in Britain was not favorable to him and by chance he came across a medical tourism company called FORERUNNERSHEALTHCARE who arranged a liposuction surgery for him in India with a good and experienced surgeon. Evan also told me that the price and the total expenditure of  his medical trip as well as obesity surgery in India was quite appealing and less than that in his native place, he declared that the results of  liposuction surgery was 85% positive as per his expectations.

I asked him “ How did you get the services of  the medical tourism company arranging health recovery packages  for abroad patients in India”. Evan replied “ I got across the medical tourism company on the internet, I just submitted my requirements and medical case details on the enquiry form at the website of the medical tourism company and the people of the company made a phone call to me and told me about the health packages offered to International patients in India and after having obtained my consent they arranged a travel , stay and liposuction surgery at a hospital in Mumbai city, my stay during medical treatment in India was a comfortable one and the surgeon with his medical staff fully cooperated with me”. Evan left for Malaysia after three days and I began to wonder about seeking a good surgeon who could provide me an obesity surgery.  obesity surgery in India is available at an affordable price through medical tourism.  I remember that day was Monday when Evan made me a call I said “Mr Peters did you enjoy your trip from where are you calling me?”  Evan told me that he enjoyed his trip to south east Asia and had returned to U.K last week. Evan said “ did you find any surgeon for getting an obesity surgery?” I answered to him “ not yet but I will find soon”, Evan suggested “ if you prefer to go to India for a medical trip then visit the website of  it.

I have seen that website the surgery packages on that website have a less and appealing price so you would not have to incur too much money for an obesity surgery in India , as regarding travel and lodging arrangements during your stay in India the health consultants of the medical tourism company will do it all for you, they would also arrange for your return journey to Dubai.” I replied “ Ok I shall see to it.” I had an e-ticket booking agent in my office his name was Shaahid I told him to surf the website of the medical tourism company that was refered to me by Evan Peters from U.K. In the evening Shaahid came to my cabin and told me that the website of the medical tourism company contained appealing and less cost medical treatment and surgery packages. The prices of surgery in India were 45% less than that in Dubai more over a patient travelling to India was also offered a holiday tour package during his surgery. Shaahid also gave me the international phone number of the medical tourism company and I made a call on the same night after dinner and told me about my requirements regarding obesity surgery and asked the health consultants of the company to find a suitable surgeon. The health consultants of the medical tourism company told me that they would do the job and reply me soon they also asked me my e-mail address I gave them the official correspondence e-mail address of my travel agency.

International patients are coming for obesity surgery in India in major industrialized cities like Mumbai, Goa, Kerela, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune.   I had got a medical check up right one month before so I gave the copies of the health report including the information of my identity and photographs to Shaahid and the young man who was expert and quick in doing internet related tasks quickly send them to the e-mail address of Forerunners Healthcare as file attachments. On 2nd September 2007 the medical tourism company made a phone call to me that the refered obesity surgeon is ready to operate me after 16th September so I can choose and tell the date of my arrival to India, I replied that coming to India on 16th September for obesity surgery would be suitable for me. And finally I reached India for obesity surgery on the above mentioned date after intimating about the time of my arrival. At the airport of Mumbai city an associate of the medical tourism company had already to come to receive me, he was had brought a white coloured car suited to those in medical profession. He took me to a hotel and made me to stay for that night telling me that he would take me to the surgeon on next day at 12’0’clock. The hotel was magnificent and comfortable place similar to those I had seen at Abu Dhabi. In the case of international patients, obesity surgery in India is usually prompted by the desire – or need – to have procedures done on the cheap in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Goa.

The next day I met the obesity surgeon at afternoon at his hospital . After taking a formal medical check up the surgeon told me that I could get a weight loss benefit by a lap band surgery which was a safe weight loss surgery procedure he told that 75% weight loss  is guranteed through a lap band surgery. The surgeon operated me at the same evening under a minor anesthesia. After the surgery the obesity surgeon told me that he had put a flexible band around the intestinal passage of my stomach he assured me that within 6 months I would start seeing the benefits of  lap band surgery. I was also suggested to take a liquid diet and light foods for 2 weeks. On that night I was given glucose and fruit juices and I felt comfortable with it. I was told to start a 600 calorie solid diet after 2-3 weeks of the surgery. For two days I remained under after surgery observation, on the very next day after the surgery I got a blood clotting I really felt nervous at that moment but my surgeon told me not to worry as it was a common complication that often arises after the surgery. I was treated with an anti-clotting ointment and some capsules. I felt alright by that evening. After getting obesity surgery in India and returning back to Dubai I subsisted on glucose injections, fruit juices and vegetable soup for two weeks and took complete rest for that period. After that I started taking solid food diet. But I noticed that my food intake was considerably reduced upto 45% of my original diet after the surgery and so I noticed a considerable weight loss in these four months after obesity surgery in India.

The term Body Mass Index (BMI) was developed to calculate a healthy weight for each person’s height. A healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9kg/m2.
